I said "I'll be baack"

What is up my friendly hoodlums and savages. Day 3 of being back at work and I have had a shit ton of work dumped on my desk that was "supposed to be covered while I was gone" and turns out nothing was touched... So that was cool.

Other than that, I landed a meeting with a "whale-sized group" for my role within the company which is about 3x the max size group I am supposed to be working with and got approved to run with it. Held the meeting yesterday and crushed it, now to get all of the owners together which should be easy enough to do.

Still way too damn tired for all of this shit hahah, I need another 4 weeks of leave to be mentally fit to come back here I think. But mama didn't raise no pansy and I'll fight through.

What was it like for those that came back from leave or even a long vacation? What is your typical time frame or routine to get yourself back in the mode of sales/prospecting?

One shitty thing about that is I got in "trouble" for doing that when I first started here as they are SUPER touchy about their branding and want their own backgrounds set.

I did try that though :)

I have a couple of polaroids of my wife and kids and a Saint Joseph icon hung on the wall above my monitor at home. Very big "Do it for her" Homer Simpson vibes, but it's honestly very effective and motivating to look up and see who you're grinding for.

Man, they've really got you hitting the ground running (sprinting?)! Sucks that you've gotta go through a four week back log that was supposed to be covered.

I don't think I have any specific advice from when I came back from leave, but it sounds like this new opportunity could be all the fire you need to get back in to the swing of things.

I'd focus on that deal specifically, while creating kind of a hierarchy of needs when it comes to your backlog. High value/probability stuff first, then get to the rest.

My opinion is however long you’re gone is close to how long it will take to get you back on track and in your groove.

So if it’s two weeks it could take you that long to get back into your rhythm and all caught up.
