Is anyone in here selling events, sponsorships, or partnerships that involve events?

I'm looking for a job that I actually like.

I used to work in entertainment/events and marketing back in the day. I'd love to combine that with sales but when I look for this it is more marketing, event production, or agency roles.

I guess my ideal job would be to represent a product or brand that wants to increase its brand awareness or build a demand-gen lead pipeline through events or sponsoring them. Or a SaaS Account Manager or Partnership Manager role that is integrated with events in some way? I like the social aspect of events but ideally, it'd be a fully remote role where I go to or partner with events once a quarter or something. Not looking for field sales where I'm always on the road.

Also, I'm not sure if the money would be good compared to selling straight SaaS.

Basically, I don't want to sell a boring SaaS data or cybersecurity product. I love sales but I also miss a little bit of the social fun cultural aspects of events too.

Any job or title recommendations that can help narrow my search would help a lot!

I used to sell event management software, if you're looking for an AM role in that world I'm not sure how many of those companies are currently hiring, however, check out Stova, Rainfocus, Cvent, Goldcast. They all seemed to do ok through the craziness in the market downturn the past 8 months or so.

Ya this is an option I was thinking of. Selling event SaaS. I'll check those companies out.
Although I'm not sure how smart it is even that we might be in/going into a recession - who knows anymore.

You aren't wrong, however, these companies have basically been the dominant force in event management and will/have weathered the storm.

Start your own company. Seriously.

The bar to entry is low and if you have the drive you can partner with some company on a contingency basis to get the experience.
