Laid Back Customers

I'm not sure what it is about holiday weeks that have customers so lighthearted and fun to talk to but man I'm loving it.

Hopped on a first call, and the customer starts out by saying he's been in meetings all day and this is his last one before he's done for the holiday. So my engineer makes a joke about how he's looking for the something about Mary 7 minutes abs version of the pitch instead of a full length conversation. He comes back with "well my fiancé calls me the minute man so not sure if you can be that fast but unlike her I won't complain" 😂

Ended up being an awesome call that we got a demo scheduled from. Just seems like its something about these short weeks that have people ready to joke around and have fun. Regardless, I'm loving it and wish all first calls went this well. Even better knowing that they have a renewal for their current solution (that they hate) due by the end of the year so it should be a quick close.

I think this was a first for me having a prospect bust out the dirty jokes on a first call. the easy to joke with people are the best.

I'm technically on vacation today, and I've been working harder today to get shit closed out b/c of internal shit.

That’s why I like making cold calls on Friday’s. Usually find some fairly laid back people willing to talk.

Friday afternoons are my favorite time to cold call. the connection rates are lower but the people you do connect with end up being much better conversations.

That is awesome and it is always more fun when customers are able to let their own personalities come through instead of being uptight.

Love this! Customer call this morning was very light. I do like talking to people this time of year - people can be willing to have more fun.

It's the holidays! But for me even when customers are light hearted, the deals aren't closing.
So I would rather prefer curt customers and closed deals than light hearted customers and no deals (at least this month, thanks).

its all situational. Like in this case for example. he's lighthearted and fun, but also genuinely hates his current solution and with his renewal coming soon doesn't have time to really research a ton of options. we hit the nail on the head for everything he's looking for and just from knowing my competitors, I know we won't be much more expensive than he's paying now. I fully expect this one to be a solid opp with a high chance of closing. Well, as sure as you can be after a first call lol.

I have to agree you. But if they are lighthearted sometimes it doesn't hurt.

Great to hear! I think the holidays also help people connect a little more in shared experiences. Sometimes in the middle of a deal it's hard for the customer to also remember that they're dealing with humans with lives and problems on the other end. Everyone just needs to carry a little 'holiday cheer' throughout the year...

Glad you had a good experience. This week is hit or miss. You get a lot of people who are counting down the minutes to the long weekend and don't want to be bothered with anything but they committed to your meeting.

Pointed a prospect to a competitor. They came back 3 months later!
