Losing Leadership

So my boss just quit and there's no plan to replace them. My department is two people, meaning I guess I'm just gonna take on all of their responsibilities now??? How do y'all handle losing leadership with no end in sight?

10000% doing that. I should've said, how do I handle things in the meantime? Not sure how long this job search is gonna take. I'm talking with HR in a few, but I don't know how helpful they'll be.

Ask to be involved in the hiring process for your new manager. If you are going to stay there of course. Worked very well for me a few years ago.

Losing leadership is always tough :(
I know you said they don't plan to replace your boss, but any chance you could take on some responsibilities and then ask for his position? Or at least a change in title and bump in pay?

It's unfortunately a VP role, and honestly I think they want to dissolve our program anyway. They keep taking away resources and upping our quota when we can barely hit our current one...best case scenario is they lay us off and I get a sweet severance package. But that's unlikely lol
