I had an SDR send me a lead yesterday, they wanted a discovery call. He "just started" his software business, by which he meant he literally thought about starting a business that morning. The discovery took place during his shift as a gas station attendant (his only source of income at the moment) and from time to time he had to put the phone down to help a customer (everything from lottery ticket sales, to cigarettes, to paying for gas). I let the SDR know this wasn't going to be a good fit, they responded by letting me know they "really needed this to be qualified" so they could avoid a PIP....

Our marketing campaigns aren't much better. At least 40% of the leads I get are disconnected numbers, or obviously fake.

I hate the SDR system. And if thatโs the best that SDR can do (โqualify โ a lousy inbound leadโ) he needs to be gone.
