Look for remote, but pay attention to the states they require you to be in. Some fully remote companies will only hire out of certain states due to tax reasons or might want you in a time zone or support a geo territory

I'd limit the search to remote until you're about 30 days out.

Or, hear me out, remote AND apply in the area. Just get the first damn interview 😆

Yeah, I'd agree with this. With how long the interview cycle can take, it might be three months anyway.

Would that it happened like that all the time!
And yes, I realize it's inevitable, now that I drew that virtual line in the sand for the length of the process.

Yeah that’s not commutable at all.
Definitely look remote first.

If you are targeting a place where you will live, but don't live there yet - just put on your resume that you live there. AND if you can change your mobile number to that area - do it. Shows that you already live there. NO ONE is going to hire you if they think they have to deal the baggage of you relocating, etc.

In this job market, you could probably apply now in your new city and you'd only be getting to final few stages by the time you're actually living there.

Just do it, start contacting the companies. You don't want three months to fly by and then your behind the eight ball.

I have done this in the past and I just was honest with companies at the interview phase. You can highlight in a cover letter as well that you will be relocating

Do both, companies do like the ability to have in office people, syaing you're capable puts you ahead of fully remote.
