Sales Slump

I'm in a sales Slump right now and don't know how to get out of it.

I'm getting 1-2 emails every day saying "we've gone in another direction" or "we won't be purchasing anymore". It is so demotivating seeing those emails in troves. The other day I literally woke up to 3 of those in a row.

I don't know why but I'm in meetings feeling so anxious just to get to pricing and next steps. Feels like I'm not doing my job. I 100% know I'm burnt out but I can't take time off right now. I barely missed last Q by a hair which is not a big deal but I'm dreading missing two in a row.

I sell a great product that has demand. I'm seen as the guy that can sell ice to an Eskimo but right now I feel like I couldn't sell crack to a crackhead.

Savages, I need help.

Want my cell? Want to shoot the shit over nothing? Have something you want to get off your chest that you can’t say to anyone you know or trust? Hit me up.
Sometimes to break a slump you need a cathartic effect and it comes by getting it out of your body. Humans are the only species that store anxiety and stress, other animals literally exert it out of their systems when it’s too much.
I’m here for a chat if you want to try something random to help get out of the slump.

That is incredibly nice. If only there were DMs on here. I totally agree though man. I think this is a mental thing. It's not a sales thing. I've been a top performer since I've gotten into the industry.

Where in the sales process you have challenges? Why are your prospects running away - value, price, priority etc. Try to involve your team members to see if they can be your helping hands and also see what other guys are doing that are making them more successful.

Big shoutout to @GrizzleMcThornBody  I am a random stranger on the internet asking for help and this person literally took time out of their day to help and be a good human being and chat with me.  No bullshit, didn't try to sell me on anything, or preach, just had a good chat about life. Thanks again!!! Sometimes, all it can take is a friend. super thankful for this community of savages.

Best way out is to prospect the shit out of the next two weeks and build a bigger pipeline.

We do not outbound. The inbound is insane. I have more than enough oops. That is the worst part

“Oops” seems to be the operative word here, Freudian or not. I don’t know your win rate, but if you’re complaining, something is broken in your process. Work with your manager to find out what it is and address it.
For inbound, make sure you cover the following:
-what brings them to you, meaning what is their situation / current state they want solved
-how important is it to solve & what’s the desired outcome & expected impact of getting to the future state
-what have they already tried & why are they seeking alternatives
-are they prepared to throw money at the problem and at what level; is your price within their range
-what are the key features they’re looking for & what’s most important to them and the decision maker(s)
-what are the options they’re considering and what are the decision criteria
-do they see the fit & value in your solution, is there anything keeping them from partnering with you
There are more, but this is a solid framework to get you going.
And remember to disqualify as much as you qualify so you don’t waste time with people to give you these responses. Something wasn’t a fit, it’s your job to identify and understand those things so the rejection emails don’t sting as much.
End of line.

That was mean to be "opps" not "oops", my bad.
I am at about 40% conversion rate. I understand the concept of your points but i think it is more than a sales problem. I definitely live by the disqualify first rule. I am looking at alternative methods of getting out of this rut.

You know your business better than I, but I don’t think you need to look further than within your own process. You mention anxiety to rush through the process. I know you don’t want to hear it, but it really sounds like a you problem. Take accountability vs looking externally. Sales is about helping, which it doesn’t sound like you’re doing right now. Perhaps that’s the alternative you need.

What? I don't think you're understanding where I am coming from. This is 100% a me problem, so yes, you are right. I know how to sell, I know what works and what doesn't. Mentally, I am out of whack and I need to get my mind right. I am not saying there is something "externally" that is not my fault that is to blame here. I am taking accountability and acknowledging that I am not "helping" like you mention.

You are admitting the right things with this most recent post, apologies for misunderstanding. Sales has ebbs and flows. Right now you are ebbing. The important thing is to not press and try to force the deals , they will not come that way as you have seen.
If you have success before, you will again, you just have to remember what got you there in the first place. Having a mindset of being helpful to prospects goes a long way. You know what you need to do, you just have to remain consistent, even when things aren’t going your way. Your manager should be there with you throughout. Have faith. This too shall pass and it only takes one to establish momentum.

It happens my dude.

Gotta power through, what are your outlets? Sports? Hobbies?

I have a lot of hobbies. but that is the thing, I haven't been investing time in them like i used to. I pretty much just work and work out during the week. On the weekends I make social plans and do not do any of my hobbies. I think that is a major problem also. im in this very basic routine that is not healthy.

How do you organize your time?

I've gotten into the habit of specific time blocks - for hobbies, for socializing, and most importantly for dealing with work (especially the tedious shit like account mapping, SF updates, MEDDPICC notes etc).

Nature Bath. Get out into the woods/mountains/lake something pretty within an hours drive. Go chill, email Grizz, and just stop overthinking. The best things in life just happen, stop selling and start helping people find the right path. They might have gone with the comp because you showed the value in looking at XYZ that the comp does a bit better, might just be a better fit for the client. All good. Sometimes sales sucks. (SSS) but we all know inside that SADNESS is the true meaning of sales. Sales are Dope never ever stop selling.

You got this man. We all have off days/weeks/quarters.
