Should I let go of this opportunity?

Got an offer to work for my #3 (80K OTE) choice company but the offer expires before my final round with my #2 choice (110k OTE)

#1 choice isn't hiring right now.

I don't know if I will get that offer from choice #2 but I'm scared that I'll miss out on a job all together if I don't take the #3 choice. I'm confident that I'll get the offer but confidence doesn't always get a job.

What would you advise?

edit: I got both offers and took #3 as it was more in line with my goals even tho the pay is less. (but managed to negotiate)

Take what's in your hands now. If something else better pops up, then you'll have to make a difficult choice.

Congrats on the offer!

Ask for an extension, get on the phone with the HR on person when you ask. You can make this even a negotiation thing where , the option 2 pays more

Then if they donโ€™t give you an extension on the offer, call option 2. Tell them the situation and ask to move the process quicker in order to make an โ€œ informedโ€ decision

Taking the job sounds like the right answer at the moment.

However, can you possibly leverage the #2 choice?

"Mr./Mrs. hiring manager, thanks again for your time and belief in me with a formal offer.

I do want to be transparent. I'm near the finish line with another company and they've offered $110k OTE.

Money aside, I'd be signing right now with you. What is the possibility of being at $100k OTE (or extra PTO or insert other comp benefit)?

Just a thought!

Take what comes in.. I would make an attempt to negotiate if #3 can give a few more days to think about..

I would ask for and extension on the decision. You donโ€™t even have to say you are waiting on another company. Tell them you need more time to think about it

Thanks, I'll try this.

This one is tricky, extension on 3 and decision on 2 are very reasonable asks though

Firstly, congratulations for the offer @igotintosalescosofcorpbro. Here's what I'd do:

- take the offer with #3
- give the final round for #2
- if I'd get through #2, send note to #3 I won't be joining since I got a better offer

Is this for an SDR role?

Take the offer, you can always rescind it later. A job in hand is better than being jobless.

I was in the position and told the company i wanted to work for that I had an offer but wanted to work for them. I also told them who offered me.

I asked that they expedite the timeline to inside the acceptance window. Not only did I have a job offer in writing the next day, it was for a higher OTE than what the recruiter told me ahead of time.

Honestly, youโ€™ll find out very quickly if theyโ€™re interested.

Ended up taking #3 choice because it's more in line with long term career plans. Got Offer #2 and used it to negotiate for a higher salary!

Take the job and keep interviewing. You can always go back and say I'm sorry, this just hasn't worked out or I received a much higher offer that I can't pass up. Companies do this all the time with pulled job offers or layoffs. Either way, you minimize your risk by accepting the job and then continuing to interview to maximize best case outcome.
