Tool Help

Hey sales fam.

I've been invited to a selection committee for a new enablement tool, Ops has narrowed it to three choice which we will take demos with and review for an EoQ decision.

Looking for insight from anyone who has used Seismic, Highspot and Chili Pipe.

Your thoughts and experiences are greatly appreciated as well as any concerns or curveball questions to throw their way during the demos.

Appreciate you!

Can you unpack what you mean by lead management? I would think you’d just use SF for this.

None of these tools are built for lead management. So you are either misaligned or unaware.

It's to manage leads in the nurture stage, who've had some engagement with our platform but not outright entered the sales cycle.

Okay, that’s still not what these tools are built to do.

It seems this is the purpose of a CRM with a solid marketing automation function. Whether it be HubSpot or SFDC+Pardot.

I concur. Seismic and Highspot are content management solutions, they can provide you insights as to who/when/what interacted with your content, but they don’t manage leads and the reporting in both is so bad you’ll struggle to even validate the use cases it is built for.

Chili Piper’s main purpose is booking meetings similar to Calendly.

Sounds like what you are looking for is a solution to track intent which is more in line with a solution like 6sense or similar.

I've just been added to the team to review demos, I didn't pick these solutions, I'm going off what I was told.
Sounds like Ops was oversold.

Sounds like your ops team is out to lunch or has no ability to articulate the needs of the org.

Not wrong.
At least I'll be able to talk to how this isn't what they're looking for. From what I got this morning they're looking for a tool that will house all our collateral and ping the reps when and what to send leads/accounts that aren't in active opportunity.

Ok, then Seismic or a marketing automation tool like HubSpot is the tool you want. Articulating the use case as “lead management” sells the solution required in a different light.

Yea I get that, my initial post was from the email I got yesterday, and the description provided.

Was looking to get ahead of the curve based on WR's feedback and it has been super helpful.

Glad we got this sorted out. One thing for them to keep in mind with Seismic is that it really requires a dedicated internal owner. Someone needs to be focused on content management, organization, tagging, reporting, rev control etc.

It can be a great solution, but needs a dedicated attention.

Side note: integration with GSuite is a mess. The way my org was instructed to set it up was a complete failure. Had to connect with another customer to figure out a realistic work around.

I’ve used all three and find seismic to be the best overall. Most capabilities and easiest way to get social connected. Highspot is a close 2nd and in some ways it’s a better system but Seismic wins on ease of use and overall ability.

When I started at two separate orgs with each system I found seismic allowed me to jump in the fastest and easiest. Hope that helps.

Worked with Seismic in the financial services sector a couple of times. They work and have a real product that is used by banks that I can’t name but you would want to be on the same letterhead with.

Not sure of the others, and it is a little survivorship bias for me

Seismic is great for integration with CRM (SFX in my case.). Easy to use and allows some level of tracking and engagement analytics.

Chili Piper is a great tool for inbound lead flow, especially if you are looking to increase your inbound conversion and are investing money into demand gen. It helps tremendously by allowing the lead to book time directly on the correct reps calendar at the time of interest, and cuts speed to lead down to instant
