What is average total compensation for an AE?

I know this varies like no other, but I'm trying to figure out if my current pay is average, below, high etc. Base + commish at quota. Currently at 90 base with about 45 more at goal.

Im sure theres more posts like this and i apologize if its repetitive.

Lots of great comments here. Another thing to consider is where do you live? HCOL areas might offer great pay, but your $$$ doesn't go as far as you might like.
I don't remember who posted it but someone on here had a post two weeks ago that they sell and work remotely in Mexico where COL is super cheap compared to their home.

That feels reasonable? But, like you acknowledged, it can vary greatly by industry, product, market, etc.

Most competitive AE positions are paid 50/50 meaning a 100k base gets you around 200k OTE.  I’m probably in a different industry but this seems light.

Yeah- I will only ever consider a 50/50 being an individual contributor is the Saas field.

At least.  I'd prefer something where I can make 100k base to make 350k ote but that will only include escalators and bonuses.

Base is good for that level but as other's said I'd want more on the variable side.

Seems a bit light! I also agree with the 50/50 split. Base around 100k+ and then double that if you hit goal

Based on the compensation research I’ve done, I think your comp is middle/upper middle for an AE. As you mentioned, a massive amount of factors though. Some of these cash burning VC backed startups peak the market a bit, but these are the exception not the norm

I think $250-375k OTE is what is out there.  If OTE is below $300k, then I'd expect a 60/40 base/commission split
