๐Ÿ’ฐ $1500 Profit in 1 week / Seeking Ideas, advice from SAVAGES !

I got lucky. Invested $3000 in Polygon crypto a couple of weeks back. I got lucky. It kept rising. Is still rising. I just got lucky. I've cashed all of it out. Like minutes back.

I'm happy with the 50% profit ($1500) I made in 10 days. No regrets. even if it doubles from here (I mean, I will feel bad, but that's ok).

I want to FEEL happy about this win. This profit. And not want to double or triple or 10X it. Maybe someday. Not today,

Question to the WR: Where do I spend the $1500 profit?

Here's what I don't want to do:

  • Put it in stocks / mutual funds / gold / other financial assets
  • Put it back in crypto

I'd rather want to:

  • Either buy something tangible which keeps reminding me to take such risks in life every once in a while
  • Or, invest it in a boring business - like a vending machine or sth
  • Or, some other crazy memorable idea

I'll end this with the age-old, classing prospecting CTA:

Savages, any thoughts?

Hookers and blow?

Seriously Iโ€™d either lay down a debt or save for either a rainy day or a splurge.

I'd say save it or buy some kind of accessory that will last awhile. I'd want to spend more on a watch, likely, but you can still find some real nice ones at that price point.

Cufflinks, if you'll have the opportunity to wear them? Maybe a dope ass wallet? Not sure about you, but personally I like fancy shit that'll last.

Leather goods are one of the things that I think are worth the splurge - a nice wallet properly made in Italy can last a long time, plus you'll feel baller when you pay for things which is nice.

Every time you see that wallet, which will be every day, you'll be reminded of your win, and hopefully be inspired.

I have a watch that does this for me. Enjoy!

I'm currently using a Versace one I don't really like. Used to have a dope red D&G but that was stolen.

Thinking LV next.

index/mutual funds. They're crazy down right now. Park it there, sit on it for a few years, and enjoy the huge gains in the future

Second this, indexes seem boring but it's rare for anything else to consistently outperform them. Especially with the nutty market we are likely in for coming up, having a very diversified portfolio will really help mitigate that.

yep. index/mutuals are the best way to "get rich slowly". Meaning you won't become a millionaire over night from them, but you're practically guaranteed an excellent long term return if you invest consistently and be patient.

I'd have loved to. I'm the rational type. But I really would not want to grow this profit further. Need something tangible. In front of my eyes. Useful. Resourceful. Which gives me the motivation to take such risks in future as well. @NotCreativeEnough

reward yourself by growing that portfolio further. Whenever you need something tangible you can see, look at that net worth climb.

Nothing wrong with rewarding yourself every once and awhile. But make sure you reward your future self as well.

Minted some NFTs on polygon back in the day but the more I've done my homework the more I've become convinced Bitcoin maximalism is the way. That said happy a fellow savage was able to make money! My advice would be stay humble and stack sats. Only one crypto will win out as money.

What you do is take the pure profit and play with that, throw it back in, get riskier, and smarter, if it 10x's, it's 15k, if you lose it, it was profit anyway. If you 2 x it , take out 1500, now you saved your profit, and can 10 x the rest without pulling your hair out. play with what you can lose and play smart and the sky is the limit

I hear you. So honestly, every time I've tried this in the last 6 years, I've gone back to ZERO

So this time, I thought I'd encash everything, and actually spend the profit on something I can own for life (or even for a few years).

yeah i think the important part is setting clear guidelines, expectations and boundaries. If I know that it's highly unlikely for the coin to break past a ceiling and keep going without a correction I will pull it near the ceiling or hopefully at it, let it correct, then dump it back in at the new floor. Before hand I will say something along the lines of 'ok I think once this 2x's Im good - ill walk out of the casino then'

But without this strategic thinking it's really easy to just let it ride and lose your profits

Glad to help. I quadrupled my parents savings this way.

Think about it like this, from 8 cents to 16 =2x but then if it goes down to 10 cents again? Thats 20%

But, if you sold at 16 and put it back in at 10, now you have 160% of the shares you had before. Now if it goes to 14 cents, sell again, it goes down to 11, you buy back in, you now have d amount more shares. Now each
Time the price raises you are making so much more money than before, where now if it went to 22 cents you have 300% what you originally would of only had 200%. Its fun.

It's a semi-hefty investment firstly. Then, have to figure out the logistics - maintenance - n all. Refilling frequency. Location.

Honestly, a little scared to fail @TennisandSales

Say no more. Get a tattoo - but not any tattoo, get tattooed this date. Just the date - Jul 18th, 2022. Anytime someone asks about it you can brag about how important this date was and how you felt like a winner. It was so amazing that you literally immortalized the moment by tattooing it - the best part is that you don't have to remember the date you got such an amazing tattoo because you can always look at it. Stonks. Or just get something nice like a watch or Zumba classes - idk.

Index/ mutuals, especially this year, are a much smarter play than crypto. It makes me really sad to see how many fortunes were lost over these tokens
