Edit: This was a shitty post by me. At the end of the day, this is not my company, I am not paid to be here, and I have been an ass lately when it comes to telling people how they should and should not act as a member of The War Room. I've invested far too much time and energy into it, and the community is no longer a source of inspiration or knowledge sharing for me--which was its intent. Read this post if you want, but a few days removed I realize that this is not the right way to foster a community. I'm going to come back later on, but for now, keep it funky. PBC, out.
Lots of new folks joining the community, which is fantastic! You're here because you wanted to join the community that is built for sales professionals, and you fancy yourself a bit of a pro. Glad to have you here...but let's talk about how to add value to the community so that you can earn that commission fair and square.
There isn't a deal desk (mods) here, yet, so you're going to see some folks like @funcoupons @BigMeech and @CuriousFox hopping in on your posts and providing links to existing threads that cover the topic or theme. We aren't being assholes, but we are trying to offer resources that already exist and might provide you with valuable insights into the questions you are posing. Sure, I might get snippy, but it's mostly love.
Second, let's talk about what constitutes a low-effort post, aka a shitpost. If you pose a question, add a poll with three basic answers, and don't bother adding context or answering your own question, that is considered low-effort. It doesn't invite a conversation, but it does make it easy to collect commission for others without doing anything to earn it. If you're going to post, make sure you're bringing value to the table with a cool bit of insight or an example for the topic you're hoping to talk about. Your context helps us help you.
Finally, let's talk velocity. Great in your sales pipeline, kind of not so great on The War Room. This brings me back to the old saying of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should". Just because you can post whatever you want on here, doesn't mean it's worthy of a post. Yes, if you look at my post history, I'm guilty of a few lower-quality posts. However, there are some users that post upwards of 5 times a day, thinking its' a strategy to build fat stacks of commish. What you're doing is flooding the feed and making it harder for us to provide insight or actually participate in your threads. Say it with me: less is more.
Finally, if @paddy graces your post with his presence, you've made it. Just don't get to close when he's smoking, he might burn you.
