Wouldn't ever. Couldn't ever. Same reason a flunked out of code school. I can't sit still and analyze shit all day. Just not wired that way.

thanks! But it's actually the other way around. From AE to Rev Ops @braintank

Oops, misread. I've seen that done. Even considered it myself. But the drop in income kept me away.

no kidding man. I'm an ENT AE now actually, and want to pivot to something more operational/analytical. I think it's a better career long term in terms of stability, but you're right, the drop in income sucks.

I figured I've got a few more years of stress as an enterprise AE before I hang up my skates and go the Ops route.
Best way is to look internally since you can leverage your knowledge of the company and network with Hiring Managers

solid advice! I'm hesitant on going this route, because of my short tenure at my new company. Been here for 6 months only, but you're right, networking never hurt anyone.

Unless you have previous closing experience you might have to start as an. SDR/BDR to learn the ropes.

I’d say use your network and look internally, I thought abt doing the same, showing imitative helps too like becoming certified in SFDC and the other tech you use. I interviewed at one company for sales enablement and they basically said I have the sales experience but lack the technical skills and that they were looking for someone who was a team lead or manager or someone who was very skilled with their tech stack

You don't see many going from Rev OPs to a AE role - mostly the reverse because they can't handle the sales quota/performance requirements.

My friend had. I would suggest if you are addicted to money and love the money you make as an IC : You will be disappointed in the revops role. Not for the weak. If you are really passionate about coaching/ enabling others, you might as well like it. But otherwise : Weigh down heavy on the pros and cons and then decide.
