I was speechless!

When I started working as an SDR. I tried talking to a Prospect from Europe.

After building a relationship with the prospect, I asked her if she would like a quick call or a demo of the product.

She was like YESS!! Let's do that.

Since then, she started ghosting me. When I say ghosting....she was legit GHOSTING!

I messaged her, called her, sent a video message, wrote on paper clicked a picture, and sent it to her. NOTHING! Multiple reachouts but nothing.

At this time you start to question, what happened? If she was not interested she could just say so. I'd at least save time.

After 2 months, the same person came from the inbound channel! I used to work in outbound.

I wanted to say so much but couldn't. It was a lesson to be more accepting. Have you ever experienced ghosting on another level?

When you said "legit ghosting" I thought you meant she had like, died.

This is more dramatic than a hallmark movie. Youโ€™ve experienced the typical experience of an SDR. They say yes to you, get busy with other things, and arrive in the inbound rotator when they remember that random interesting company. Glad you cut your teeth early.

It really was.. I was caught between Hallmark Christmas and the Halloween ghosting that @CuriousFox mentioned in her comment.
Glad you got it out of the way, @SalesManiac . It'll happen again. People will forget you but remember the company.

I had a prospect ask to meet with me in person after getting in touch via emails and cold calling. We did a short 20-30 minute chat. I established there was a need for our product and we had great rapport. Discussed a time for a deeper dive, she looked at her calendar and we booked a time right there. When the day of our deeper dive came she profoundly ghosted us by not showing up and then never answering emails or calls. She didnโ€™t get fired or anything either, just decided not to talk with me ever again.

To this day Iโ€™m so confused but thems the brakes. Welcome to sales baby!! Itโ€™s a roller coaster of shits and giggles but the pay makes it worth it.

Just never forget the golden rule of sales: steal as much company swag from your own org or at conferences and convince your kids these are all toys for them. Youโ€™ll always succeed if you remember that.

Companies shifting to cutesy characters as their mascots has been so clutch for parents.

Spent a night with @LambyCorn mom. It was amazing. She was interested in everything I had to say and could offer. I asked to show her the demo and she said yes but had to wait until the morning. When I woke up she was gone. Worst ghosting ever.

Totally happens. Welcome to sales.

The converse will also happen. You may sell an account and roll off - years later, they still reach out to you with questions.

The amount of deals Iโ€™ve sold to people who professionally told me to fuck off and then come back to me 6 months later is not small at all.

This is common, I would move on.
Did you speak to your manager to see if you can credit as the conversation started from you?
