Most tips with Chris Voss are super helpful. I think its important to acknowledge its a cold call and especially saying something that is unique so you don't sound like every other cold call they get.

This right here is (sorry) why I don't like videos, and won't subscribe to any of these guys.

GET TO THE POINT.

The line itself isn't bad, and I understand there's a back story, but waiting for him to read to me, mention his subscribe, links, upcoming stuff...is as bad as trying to watch network TV with the ads and the "coming up next" and the recaps of what you just saw before the commercial break.

And I'm not even of the generation that we hear has a shorter attention span!

this michael guy is my absolute least preferred youtube sales guy - his advice seems like the advice a sales trainer who has never cold called before give you

but hey, some things I absolutely cringe at that work for others

I tested it by using it maybe 70-100x after seeing a few of this guy's YTs in early 2021,. Then, based on real world results, I moved on to better techniques. I like this guy and think he was coming from a good place at the time, trying to take more thoughtful approaches to prospecting. However, a well-meaning person using bro techniques will still hit as if they're just another bro. This technique isn't natural/conversational, is delivered in a rushed, super sales-y way, and makes you sound insecure and pessimistic, instead of confident and professional (e.g., "I appreciate you taking my call"; "you're probably gonna hate me for this; this is *actually* [?] a cold call; do you wanna hang up [?], or can I *steal* a minute").

The more you sound like a normal human being (vs. a pushy person in a some boiler room, a la "The Wolf of Wall Street"), the more successful you'll be. Instead of wasting your time and the prospect's by preemptively dragging yourself "before they can do it to you," just get to the point and be real. Before you dial, take a deep breath, hold it for a second, let it all the way out, then dial. Next, just say something like, "
Hi Francois, I’m Danbad with Bravado. Good morning."
Then, be quiet and listen for their reply.

Next: "If it's ok, I’d love to talk briefly about how our software can help [their company's name] hit revenue targets in 2023." Be quiet again, and listen to their reply. By that point, you'll know whether or not they'll allow you to proceed. If they do, keep it tight and ask open-ended Qs about the things you need to qualify them on.

The sooner you get out what the prospect's going to be thinking anyway (who are you; who are you with; why are you reaching out), the better. Also, stereotypical salespeople don't shut up; they act like they live in a 24/7, stress-soaked fear of silence. In a real convo, it's a back + forth, like a tennis match. A natural conversational style is much more likely to produce a more pleasant (even if they say no) and productive outcall than a domineering one. Don't try to be something you're not. Don't be a bro; just be yourself. The real you is always good enough.
