I think you need to talk to people where they want to be talked to. If your prospect is super active in LI and clearly really engaged there then you might have opportunity. IF that is the case then leverage their recent content to create a specific ask/reason for connection that you want to discuss further. Start with questions before any sort of pitch.

All of that being said, if they aren't active using LI then you're probably going to get ignored and this isn't the right mechanism for that prospect.

Exactly.  Most down here either forget they have the LI or they say they can't remember how to get in. Either way they are telling the truth. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

LOL. The restaurant industry is just like this as well. The number of super successful operators that we speak to with 5 connections is hysterical.

Leverage a specific ask/reason for the connection in your invite message. Let them decide to accept based on that message, and if they do, start asking discovery/probing questions to see if it's worth asking for a meeting.

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
Hyper depends on your segment and their level of engagement as @UrAssIsSaaS said.

Ive had some great success in the past when I was targeting the design world as they all wanted to show off on LinkedIn to build a brand etc etc.

Logistics, not so much.

I am not a big LinkedIn fan for outreach but I definitely leverage it because I get result (though a very small % but why miss it). Sales pitch do come in picture but not instantly.

LI DM's isn't where business goes down in my experience.

In the past 3ish yrs - I've moved away from using LI as a resource for communication. I normally find contact info/leads and reach out directly via email or phone.

Even with a referral intro I don't talk with ppl from LI. Same when I used to make attempts - most decision-makers get enough BS inquiries they know to ignore all. Need to get communication started on their terms.

None, I use linked to connect and post infortmetive posts about areas our software and solutions can address. i’ve tried in the past and felt like a scumbag for adding linkedin reach out to my cadence, whats next like their IG story and aend them $1 on venmo?

I try to ask a question that's relevant to them aka to their industry as a general ice breaker, then follow up with them.

I always vary on how quickly I reach out based on my sense of urgency and timing for that specific lead. When I do reach out I cut right to the chase. You get less attention span you your messages on social you you need their attention right away. Tell em what you want and ask for a meeting. At least that’s my philosophy!

I've always tested the direct click or the click with a note. No results to be worthy yet.

However, when connect, I tend to once in a while like their posts etc and give it at least 3 days before you talk to them.

I usually go with the formalities and then ' I'll be honest, I sent you an email but I guessed it, is it..., so you may have seen my email about X'. No worries either way!'.

Think about how you would react to someone sending you a straight-up pitch, how you'd like to be sold to.

I just use the classic "wizard" email/message that the dude from 30mpc has, and it works well. Im actually in a deal right now where the CEO agreed to meet and he had no idea what I did/sold, but he met me because he liked the email.

Cold calling will never die in a complex selling environment... and in my humble opinion is King for outbound prospecting. What does the War Room think? Have you found more productive/efficient ways to start relationships? Asking for a friend 😅

If you join a SaaS company and thrive at the beginning due to inbound leads and good SDR and then sales start going down due to a change of SDR and less inbounds, does that mean you’re not a competent sales person or does it mean it’s time to move on to another company?
