SaaS - Best practices with SE

Hello Everyone,


I'd love to hear some of your best practices when it comes to working with Sales Engineer. I'm going to leave that open and not give my ideas in order to enhance creativity.

Well. Um. You could start by never under-communicating like that to your SE so they don't throw their mouse at you.

Hmmm... I didn't think it would be taken like that. I just didn't want anyone to come up with "that the way to go" instead of sharing actual experience. I'll update my post:) thanks for the comment!

Too much open endedness here.   Are you 1:1 with your SE?  Who gives your demos?  How long is your sales cycle?   How complex is your solution?

This is a good Q though. I feel like we haven’t defined a clear relationship between AE and SE at my company either and they don’t have enough work to do so they’re doing more sales ops/sales enablement sort of stuff to fill their day.

We usually get them involved after the first demo if there are technical questions or security questions that the prospect wants to dig into more. We don’t really have them present anything or demo anything and I think if there were a way to incorporate them demoing some of the more technical components or something that might be helpful but the product isn’t really that technical to warrant it so it’s tough!

Also realizing I probably completely misinterpreted the question so yah maybe more context is needed 🤣
