Context is probably key regarding the product you're selling.

D2C? B2B? B2C?

Lot of ways to approach and probably changes answer.

Also, I'm a dumb dumb when it comes to facebook advertising. Guessing you'll get some more thorough answers with a little more info provided.

In general, in terms of using the Facebook platform, it may be appropriate in most cases, but it depends on the method used to display it .
Do you think so like me.

Don’t spam groups with your ads. No body likes that.

Ads are the way to go.

Needed a none of the above option -

If you're selling computers and accessories - and you're targeting moms and senior citizens, Facebook is great. Not even the younger gens hang around FB.

If you are looking for actual computer literate buyers you may need to change platforms and ask reddit users where they purchase.

From PC literate user that would never buy/believe anything off FB.

Now buying via Facebook has become very popular, but it needs credibility. When a person tries this thing and finds that you are honest and your dealings are elegant and excellent, it spreads among people and fame is generated by the credibility of sales for your page on Facebook.

Start with asking if your ideal customers are even on Facebook. If you sell B2B, you are probably not going to get a ton of traction there.

Then it is about speed or quality. Facebook ads can be fast, but the quality can be hit or miss.

Building your own group gets you the best leads, but it is labor intensive.

I would hesitate joining other groups due to promotion rules.

I'm not a marketer but i would suggest targeted ads (this should help get customers that are in the market for your product and know who you are)

Ads are not enough on their own. I think you must also have a popular base for the ad to be completely successful

I haven't been on FB personally or professionally in years so I had no idea it would be used to increase sales. I mean I get it for mom and pops but enterprise, not too sure. But that's just 1 fella.

I am the manager of a page on Facebook for shops for computers and their accessories, and there are many customers who followed posts on Facebook and became our approved customers.Customers who follow the page say (we hope that your offers will not stop on Facebook because we are always following you)

For B2C, I would think its funded adds, but this is not my expertise

B2C sales? Then ads.

Also, if you are selling locally in brick and mortar, look for local pages. Our town has a page (or two) and it's allowed to advertise your store - communicate openings, new offerings, sales, etc. Potential customers have the opportunity to learn about the store and ask questions and connect right there. I believe it's limited to a post a week (so it's not entirely a giant yellow pages) but you might want to see if a group or page like that exists for you.
