Sales is not easy and the most successful sales people I know are not the smartest people in the room. They are the ones who put the most effort into each engagement and tries to improve every single call/meeting.

I would say if you have good work ethic and are able to get the most results with less effort is the best. the whole work smarter not harder situation

man this is really interesting. Because I think what will help an SDR be successful is having the ability to commit to their out reach strategy. HAVING one is good, but being able to EXECUTE it every week is another skill.

BUT

all of this is for not, if there is not product need. If there is a product that is in HIGH demand, even bad SDRs will succeed haha

Quality, not quantity, but willingness to work hard and constantly refine and improve. Can't beat product fit and timing for success, but you have to control what you can.

Yes. Also be sure to actually listen to the prospect. You'll learn more when you aren't worried about hitting a quantity.

Grit and determination. You need to be able to do the same things every day, even if you don't feel like it. You need to be able to keep calling after 2 people told you to piss off and 3 people slammed the phone. Scrappy BDRs are the best BDRs

I think there is a lot that can go into it, but I would say targeting is the #1 thing. Knowing the right ideal customer profile, where to find them, and what they respond to are the biggest differentiators in my mind.
