Any tools that help AE's ask and get referrals to generate pipe? Now what I've been doing is 'Ask'. Is there any tech that automates the process? Or any of y'all have a framework that works?

There are some things that don’t require software. This is one of them.

You could also run an automated email campaign based on close date. Sends a form link after X days bl

Does it? How are you going to use that info today?

I'm thinking I'll set up a sequence that gets activated based on the close date. Maybe a couple of emails in the sequence? I'm thinking is there a way to not manually find 3-4 connections of the prospect on linkedin who fit my ICP. Vs taking the generic route of "Feel free to send over anybody you know who might appreciate my product"

Make a compelling offer. No offense, but I’ll archive any email that is asking for me to refer business if I don’t get anything out of it. Free month, renewal credit, gift card ($100+) etc.

Lol, I'd do the same too. Free month is a good start, for sure! Thanks :)

Havent heard of tech to help automate, outside of running a campaign to current customers on the referral promotion.

This is more of a marketing-run campaign, no? Have you seen success in getting referrals from prospects? Not users?

Not really, in rare case yes. I think it would be rare for a prospect to be willing to refer a peer when they do not have much experience with the product.
Of course there are outliers, but rare

How would you automate asking for referrals?

Honestly, that's what I'm wondering. Context (my bad, should've added this in the first place): Haven't really found much success with asking for referrals in the past. Marketing teams have a ton of referral-that, referral-this tools to run these campaigns at scale and target users. Was thinking there's probably a whole bunch of referrals they're leaving on the table because most don't ask prospects. just users. Depending on close rates, only half of the total number of prospects get asked for referrals. And what's a good way to leverage this and create better pipe.
Idk, I feel like I'm just rambling now, lol

Referrals? Hmm maybe recommendations on LinkedIn and Bravado? I'm not sure I've ever heard of anything like this or fully understand what's being asked.

Picture this: You just demo'd your product to a prospect. Now IO'm thinking irrespective of how the deal goes, there's a potential opportunity to ask and get referrals from this person. Maybe I find 3-4 connections on linkedin and see if they can make an intro or referral. Idk, is this a good way to go about this to begin with?

Oh! I think it's a smart idea! Like hey mr/ms prospect. Want your feedback on this... Do you think anyone in your network would be interested? However I'd throw in a carrot. So what would they get for bringing in people for you? Maybe reduced price etc.

Yeah definitely throw in a carrot there. Get something back for a discount.

Can you just ask for feedback in the context of that call? It's a pulse check to see how they liked it as well.

I can see this being a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you're trying to scale out referrals to generate some pipe. While on the other hand, asking/propositioning current clients for referrals is something that I would ONLY do in person/conversation. Not necessarily an email cadence. Either way... there's pros/cons to this. Let us know what you find because this is a very interesting use-case.

AE’s - here’s a very client-centred way to gather information about ‘WHEN’ a decision needs to be made. Doing it this way will help you shorten sales cycles and build trust. Keep in mind - not every question I ask in this example is a perfect fit for every buyer, but should give you a good place
