Sales Script Validation

Hello Experts,


I work for a tech staff augmentation firm. One rejection reason, I hear quite often is


  1. Hiring froze until Q1'24.


This quarter I'm struggling with my quota. I still got 2 months. Hence wanted to take advice from you peeps to see what I can do to get results.


TBH, I don't know how to counter this hiring is frozen rejection.

This is exactly right. Get Q1 off to a great start for them. They need to get their planning done NOW for Q1, that's where you come in.

Good luck. Most staffing decisions are put on hold during the holidays. No one wants to on board someone new this time of year.

I don’t think this is an objection, but it can just be the truth. So it’s on your to qualify/disqualify if there will be budget leading to you focusing on roles that do have budget or headcount approval.


If you are hearing this on a cold call but want to set up pipeline for Q1, I would mention how as the hiring manager knows, headcount can be taken away quickly if not used. So it’s important to make a plan for Q1, so let’s connecting on Dec to discuss a plan

Focus on building the relationship and continue following up with them to see if anything has changed. Just focus on building the pipeline for next year, unless your on pip. Just do your best and prepare for a big q1, if you are on pip start looking.

planning is happening now why not interview people and know the hires are there with a start date in the new year when the budget is reset.

I can't think a lot on this - but you can build a pipeline for sure. It's almost the festive season too anyway, so you can't expect a lot of traction.
But you can definitely build a pipeline.

No. The company understands that things will move a bit slowly in Q4 but it's just my personal curiosity about how can most of the companies have a hiring freeze. The math doesn't add up. Also could be because I moved from Supply Chain Sales, which usually is booming in Q4 to Contractual staffing & this is my first Q4. Kinda finding it tough to adapt.
