BDR/SDR Managers, what do you do with your spare time?

I've been a BDR/SDR manager for about two years now - never got really any formal training (as is typical) so figured a lot out on my own.

One thing I've always struggled with is: what do you do with your spare time when you have it? I always preach to my team to be smart & intentional with your time but have trouble doing it myself sometimes.

Curious to hear how others structure their days, thanks!

It's like being a parent--you get a break from the kids so what do you do? Most will do something that makes them feel empowered/selfish...and when translated to the business world, that was always learning something to make myself better so that I was a better performer for my team.

Alternative: use that time to be an S/BDR and do their job for an hour. You'll be shocked at what you learn about the holes or bright spots of your operations.

Ours will often jump on the phones themselves to book some appointments.

Getting into the muck shows the team that you understand their role. Great advice @funcoupons

Shadow reps in an unobtrusive way. "Hey xyz, I am free between xyz and xyz any topics you want to cover or would you be cool with shadowing your cold calls/discos?"

I like this a lot. I've tried other things like listening to calls whenever I get the chance.
