Do you have 5-10 years of experience?

Or do you have one year of experience repeated 5-10 times.

This. Right. Here.

I love this quote/question.

The sales industry is rampant with the 1 year experience repeated year after year type mindsets.

Reps and leaders say things like...

I know how to do this.

I have my own way.

I'm a natural.

I don't need to read/practice/review calls/etc

When I was a rep/SDR/manger here’s how I did it.

The list goes on.

If you are doing things exactly the same way as you were 5-10 years ago, this I promise you...

Reps: You're leaving money on the table.

Leaders: You are under-developing your reps.

You must be constantly AND intentionally evolving, learning, testing, tweaking, optimizing, failing, and repeating.

Don't get stuck in the 1 years experience repeated 5 times trap.

A former manager of mine saw me present at a conference a couple of years ago and after my presentation he said.

'Wow, I thought I'd seen it all from you before, but you had new stuff up there'

I was like 'exactly -- I'm still learning, growing and improving too.'

Never stop.

No doubt.  I say that quote all the time.  Can’t remember where I got it....maybe Zig?
Mmmm good one!
It was actually me - 30 years ago. I also said to a salesman who questioned whether or not he should be on one of my training courses, "Do I need this? I have been selling for twenty years" To which I replied, "Yes, but have you been selling well for twenty years?"
PS: The correct quote is: "Do you really have ten year's sales experience or do you have one year's experience ten times?"
